Good day, and welcome to Bus Stop - a small talk message board. Registration is not required and each post remains on the site for only a day, after which, it disappears.

If you find this place empty, it doesn't necessarily mean that it's completely abandoned. Feel free to make a post to start a discussion, perhaps someone will see it and reply!

Bus Stop is intended to be a stress free environment for talking with strangers. Try to keep a relaxed demeanor when posting, please don't say anything that might ruin the other person's day.
I hope we meet again.

Bus Stop uses an extended version of WakabaMark markup code for post formatting.
The basic features are as follows:
  • Surround text with * or _ to make it italic. _Like this_ or *like this*.
  • Surround text with ** or __ to make it bold.
  • Surround text with %% to make a spoiler
  • Make an unordered HTML list by beginning each line with *, or -. You can add line breaks in list entries by breaking the line and indenting the next line with one or more spaces.
  • Make ordered HTML lists by beginning the first line with "1."
  • Make quote sections by beginning each line with ">". Highlighting text and then clicking the post number will quote the selected text.
  • Make code sections by indenting each line by four spaces or one tab. Code sections get shown in a monospaced font, and are not otherwise formatted.
  • Make external links by just typing the URL you want to link to. Post references like >>0 can be created by clicking the post's number and are automatically turned into links. You can link posts from other boards like this >>>/test/#0. The first youtube link in the post gets embedded, unless the post has a file attachment.
If you want to make a large post with complex formatting you can test if everything looks right here.

Please fill in the subject field with a clearly defined topic when appropriate. This not only enables browsing the site like a regular message board by filtering posts with the same subject but also serves another purpose. Subjects have a longer lifespan than posts; this means that even when a subject's thread is empty, it remains in the list for several days since the last post. In the event that this board is empty, it should help a new user or someone who hasn't visited the site for a long time understand what kind of things were being discussed recently.
The board's look can be customized from the options menu, which is accessible by clicking [+] in the bottom right corner of the sidebar. Available options are as follows:
  • [theme]: switches the visual style of the site.
  • [Mona]: enables the Mona font. If your browser has problems with rendering it, turn it off to use a system font.
  • [⟳]: enables auto reloading of the page each 90 seconds.
  • [?]: controls visibility of the info post.
Options are stored in your browser's cookies, be sure to enable them, if you want to save your settings.

Bus Stop is also available through this URL vip.bus-stop.net

I depicted it in an obscure manner because that "something more" is composite; I don't know how other can relate to this, because that's difficult to talk about such things in your usual conversations.

I'll try to explain. I think the first important element is that this «something more» exist within a diversity of phenomenons (or in your reception of it) and can be grasped from any of your five senses.

That «something more» has to do with fiction, to be exact it is like the «hint/trace of a story» triggered by some phenomenon, maybe that's what Proust's reminiscence are about, but it is an extension on this idea because it the «stories/universes» aren't limited to memories.

E.g. today I looked at some flowers (from the top), they were small, pale (almost green), it had rain earlier so they were wet; that view, paired with the rainy day ambiance triggered «something more» i.e. the fugitive vision of a chinese temple garden which felt like a place architectured to fit my current mood.

I would describe that kind of experiences as daydreaming but within the fraction of a second.

But what is very important to me is the connection between the trigger-object and the triggered-dream. And I feel like what is the most "enjoyable" part is the feeling that the trigger is a synonym for the triggered : the flowers I was looking to became much more deep than they were and I felt like I could extract a lot of other things from them.

Also, I am pretty sure a lot of people have this with music; i would be curious to know if anyone else experiences this kind of stuff.

Not really a thing of my concern

I'm an artist, or an aspiring one at least, and what I love and hate the most is those moments when I'm ragingly drunk and in love with humanity, and all of a sudden I feel I've tapped into the zeitgeist. I'll be looking at some flotsam TikTok account of some Mexican and I'll notice something about the way she holds her phone for the selfie, that pristine thing, or the way her friends crowd in for the photo, all of them pretending spontaneity, and suddenly I 'get' it. I have the same revelation Andy Warhol had as he conceptualized Pop Art: "I'm living in the future."

What else could it be when I'm hunched over a borrowed laptop with an X Box controller practicing Street Fighter, holding forward and then backwards and then punch l so I can make Chun Li do that stupid combo or whatever it is that will defeat Guille? What Else could it be when I get pulled away from the general scrum of someone's overcrowded dorm room because someone noticed I was bouncing around making hopeless small talk, and he wanted me out for a smoke break (even though I didn't smoke (except weed)) so that he could tell me about all the drugs he'd tried, and his family's history of mental illness, which meant he'd been put on ADHD stimulants and sleeping pills because people thought he'd go crazy when he started smoking weed or something, cause his sister did?

What else could it be when I think the 20th Century was a write-off and the most important thing that ever happened simultaneously, characterized by VHS tape and Hitler and Blur and the final triumph of Capitalism, when musicians who did drugs and made popular music considered themselves the chiefs of Communism?

What else could it be when I think every VHS tape should be destroyed and every Super 8 immolated, so that people can take videos on their phone, and see reality as it really is (while avoiding people with tattoos and nose rings) and come to terms with the fact that we're living in the 21st Century?

And of course the soundtrack to these thoughts is some forgotten B-side from the 90s, when I should be doing something more important, like playing pool.
